Terms of Use

The service

DevToolGrid offers free developer tools that run in your browser and guides about the formats and techniques behind them. The site is provided by the operator of DevToolGrid. You do not need an account to use it. We may add, change or remove tools and guides, or take the site offline, at any time and without notice.

Acceptable use

You may use the tools and guides for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. You must not:

• try to disrupt or overload the site, for example with automated high-volume requests;
• try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or its code;
• use the site to break the law or to infringe the rights of others.

You are responsible for the data you process with the tools. Only decode, validate or transform data, such as tokens or personal information, that you are entitled to handle.

Your input and results

What you enter into a tool is processed in your browser and is not sent to us (see the Privacy Policy). You keep all rights to your input and to the results the tools produce; we claim none.

No warranty

The tools and guides are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. Although we test the tools and check the guides against primary sources, results can be wrong and information can go out of date.

Always verify output before you rely on it, especially in production and in anything related to security. For example, checking a JWT signature in the browser is useful for debugging but does not replace verification on your server, and generated passwords and hashes are only as safe as the way you store and use them.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator of DevToolGrid is not liable for any direct or indirect damage, loss of data, loss of profit or other loss arising from the use of the site or from being unable to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Intellectual property

The design of the site and the text of the guides belong to the operator of DevToolGrid. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short excerpts with a link to the source, but please do not republish whole guides. Code examples in the guides may be used freely in your own projects.

Advertising and third-party links

The site shows advertising banners and links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content, products or offers of those sites, which have their own terms. Some banners are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking one.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
