Word Counter Online: Words, Characters and Reading Time
A word counter tallies words, characters, lines and an estimated reading time as you paste text. This guide covers what the counts mean and where they help.
What it counts
The counter reports total words, characters (with and without spaces), lines and a reading-time estimate. Seeing all of these at once is useful whether you are checking a tweet, a meta description or an article draft.
It works in the browser, so the text you paste stays local.
Where counts matter
Character limits on titles and meta descriptions, word targets for content, and length checks for UI copy all benefit from a live count. It turns guesswork into a number.
Preguntas frecuentes
How is reading time estimated?
It is based on an average reading speed of around 200 words per minute. It is an estimate to gauge length, not a precise measurement.
